Clinical Director, Senior Psychologist & Supervisor MAPS
Veronica is the owner and Clinical Director of The Lighthouse Psychology Practice. As well as being registered with AHPRA, she is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), member of the Association of Psychologists in Developmental Disability (PsychDD); and a registered Medicare Australia Provider.
She is an approved Supervisor for Provisionally Registered and fully Registered Psychologists and provides professional development training on a range of topics to allied health professionals and other disciplines. Veronica has worked in private and community health settings for over 15 years in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of presentations including depression, anxiety, pre and post-natal concerns, trauma, stress, grief & loss and personality disorders across the lifespan.
Veronica has a particular interest in working with men and women presenting with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and/or complex trauma resulting in problem behaviours such as drug/ alcohol abuse, sexual promiscuity, binge eating, self harm and suicidal self injury. She also enjoys working with people who present with poor self image and identity.
Veronica has a special interest in supporting families with parenting challenges, relationship issues (Couples Counselling) and perinatal concerns. She supports women with peri-natal depression/ anxiety and psychosis; bonding/ attachment difficulties between mother and baby/ child. She is accredited in Circle of Security- Parenting, supporting women with attachment based parenting. Her passion extends to supporting couples with relationship issues, communication difficulties and family concerns.
Veronica employs Mindfulness, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focussed Brief Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Schema Therapy in her work with patients; as well as short-term Imago informed Couples Counselling. Veronica is Work Cover accredited and is a lead facilitator of group Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Veronica is currently providing clinical supervision and psychology services in person and via telehealth at both Campbelltown and Moorebank locations of Lighthouse.
