DBT
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a type of psychotherapy used to treat many conditions via both individual and group therapy formats. Its main goals are to teach people to be in the present moment, manage uncomfortable feelings and periods of distress, regulate their emotions and improve relationships with others.
DBT is built on the core foundations of acceptance and change; and how we must accept ourselves as we are and work at change. Walking this middle path is how we build a life that is worth living.
DBT is a collaborative therapy, where you work alongside your therapist to bring about change. Typically you would engage in regular one on one sessions as well as attend group skills training. Here at Lighthouse we offer both individual and group treatments.
